Astigmatism is an error of refraction often caused by a muscular imbalance due to improper eye-head movement coordination or tilted head.

Symptoms: Misshapen cornea and/or lens. Vision under certain angles is clearer than under other angles. In some cases, images may have an unnatural shape, may have a shadow, seem to be doubled or seem to have missing parts.

Traditional correction: Eye glasses with a prescription that has entries in the Cylinder and Axes fields.

Natural correction: The magic is shared with you inside this month’s lesson!

May your eyesight be boundless.

TOUCH OF ANATOMY

The extraocular muscles are responsible for controlling the movements of the eyes. Their main purpose is to move the eyeballs in different directions so that we can perceive our surroundings effectively. These muscles allow us to track moving objects, maintain steady fixation on a point, and coordinate our eyes for binocular vision (depth perception).

For the purpose of releasing astigmatism, the most important function of the muscles is that they impact the shape of the eye and its various parts, including the cornea. Relax them, restore their balance and see the astigmatism disappear.
