Dear vision therapists, thank you for taking part in this exciting project.

This page includes some basic information about how this project came to be and what the objectives of this Clinical Exploration are. It also contains training materials and other resources for you to review and use.

BACKGROUND AND RATIONALE

Strabismus and amblyopia are visual conditions widely regarded as challenging to address through many vision therapy and vision development approaches. While meaningful improvements are sometimes achieved, outcomes can be variable, and sustained binocular integration often remains difficult.

Use of this approach by several practitioners of natural vision improvement has been associated with notable improvements in strabismus, amblyopia, or both.

Given the conceptual and practical overlap between many vision therapy approaches and natural vision improvement methods, it is reasonable to explore whether BEAM may serve as a beneficial adjunct for patients undergoing vision therapy under the supervision of a doctor. This clinical exploration is intended to examine the practical integration of BEAM into existing vision therapy programs and to observe associated changes in visual function.

PURPOSE OF THE CLINICAL EXPLORATION

The purpose of this clinical exploration is to observe and document the effects of integrating BEAM into vision therapy programs for patients with strabismus.

Because amblyopia frequently co-occurs with strabismus, observations related to amblyopia outcomes will also be included where applicable.

This clinical exploration is intended to:

  • Examine how BEAM can be incorporated into existing vision therapy regimens

  • Observe changes in visual performance and binocular function over time

  • Gather practitioner observations regarding patient experience and engagement

  • Inform future refinement of the BEAM training protocol and educational materials

This clinical exploration is observational and practice-based in nature. It is not designed to test hypotheses, compare interventions, or generate statistically powered conclusions.

Please request further details from your lead vision therapist, should you be interested. At any point of this project, please contact your lead therapist or reach out to me with questions or concerns.

OBSERVATIONS AND PROGRESS TRACKING

Documenting therapist’s observations of the patient’s interaction with the Overbound Collimator Tubes and the BEAM protocol, and the status and change in their visual conditions is one of the most important objectives of this Clinical Exploration. Please share yours through the button below.
